110: The Beatles record Let It Be


Let It Be was released by the Beatles on May 8, 1970 on the band’s own label, Apple Records. Originally recored in January 1969, before Abbey Road, it was temporarily shelved as the Beatles were not happy with the album. It was later ‘re-produced’ by Phil Spector, and released after the group announced they were breaking up. The subsequent movie of the same name chronicles the band’s demise and the Apple Records rooftop concert.
