100: Elton John meets Bernie Taupin
In 1967, BernieTaupin and a young Reggie Dwight both responded to an ad that Ray Williams of Liberty Records placed in the New Musical Express seeking new talent. Williams put Bernie and Elton together and their first song collaboration was through the mail without ever meeting each other in person. Bernie decided to go write with Elton, thinking it would be good experience, and would end up back in Lincolnshire. But when his song writing relationship with Elton began, it was apparent that they had something special.
Since then, Elton and Bernie collaborated on over thirty albums together and have had dozens of hit songs together at the top of the Billboard charts.
