315: Big Chill boomer music phenomenon
![]()
The Big Chill is a 1983 film that tells the story of several University of Michigan college friends who reunite after many years for the funeral of one of their friends who has committed suicide. The soundtrack is a great album (for Boomers) of Motown classics featured in the film including hits from Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Three Dog Night, The Temptations, The Rascals, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Procol Harum and more. Here’s the video with The Stones singing “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” as the casket is carried out, and the hearse drives off.
