787: The Rolling Stones’ Rock and Roll Circus
The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus was filmed over two concerts in 1968, but not released as a film until 1996. Originally meant to appear on the BBC, The Stones prevented the released for a number of (disputed) reasons, one of which was the theory that The Stones felt upstaged by the Who’s amazing performance. In addition to The Who, the film features Eric Clapton, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Marianne Faithfull and Jethro Tull.
