Originally released in 1952, the Anthology of American Folk Music is a compilation of music released in America during the 1920s and 1930s. Harry Smith brought the music together based on his folk and country record collection, of which he had several thousand recordings. The anthology contains 84 songs, and serves as a priceless documentation of early 20th century American music.
