Hey Brian,

The English Beat was the whole reason I went to this thing in the first place!! I've also seen part of them as General Public (for free at UCLA). Saw Dave Wakling & gang (not going to say English Beat 'cause it wasn't) here in Philly & he was horrible. Talked to my girlfriend in CA who saw them in Laguna Beach at a small club, & she said he was fantastic. Who knows!?

I was there as well. My fondest memory from that day is the English Beat finishing their set and walking off the stage. Saxa kept playing his saxophone for seemed like ten minutes. Dave Wakling came back on stage and had to pull him off. What a great set from an underated band. Then Oingo Boingo came on and blew every one else away. Whoda thunk that Danny Elfman
would end up scoring movies and tv shows after that?
