Woodstock ‘69

By Gary Friedman, Lancaster, PA

At age 16 I convinced my parents to let me go to Woodstock. I just had to go. In many ways I was probably too young to fully enjoy the festival. Although, so much of the music was incredible, I have to say that Santana’s performance was astounding. They were not well known at the time. However, they had 500,000 people providing percussion in the background as a testimonial to the power of their live performance. Anyway, their show will stay with me forever. I can remember it well, and I’m now 54-yrs-old. Thanx, Gary
