Several years ago, our local band, Forever Endeavor, was playing at a private party near Coatesville, PA. Four or five bands were slated to perform, including the headliner, Richie Havens. In the middle of our set, a black Lincoln Continental drove up the driveway and four men got out and began to watch and listen to us. One of them was Richie Havens, who we’ve been fans of for many years. After our set, we met and had a nice conversation with Richie. Although we were a little nervous playing in front of him, he praised our music and was quite appreciative. Then we listened to his set, which was mesmerizing as usual. What a memorable party that was, thanks to Richie and our hosts, Louis and Gina!
