Saturday Night Fever Opens
Released during the holiday season in 1977, Saturday Night Fever was the disco era’s great flick. In the film, disco dancing would be the way to a better life for Tony and Stephanie, played by John Travolta and Karen Lynn-Gorney. The film established Travolta’s star status and marked the transformation of the Bee Gees, from a soft, melodic rock band, into superstars of disco. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack album was #1 for an astonishing 24 weeks, which at the time made it the best selling album in history. It’s still the top all-time seller among soundtracks.

When I tell my ten year old I had that suit and I had that haircut and we used to go to FEETS (under 21 club in Plymouth Meeting ) to dance……she says “No Way Dad!”.
But it’s true! (I was younger and thinner then!)
