JC Dobbs in the 80’s
by Corinne, West Chester, PA
Anyone who spent any time in Dobbs in the 80’s surely recalls big-time rock ‘n roll fun! Alan Mann, Marty Doc, Robert Hazard, George Thorogood, etc. etc. Every weekend was an absolute blast! My greatest memory, however, is thanks to Tommy Conwell. He and the Rumblers raised the roof one night, and he decided to jump off the stage and walk down the bar while playing! We had bar seats that night (get there early and beat the cover!) , and I remember those big old motorcycle boots making their way through the bottles to the screams of frenzied fans! God, it was a great bar and a great time.
Thanks for the memory, Tommy! In the event that they are still around and reading this, thanks too to the bartenders: Stewart, Vince, and Maureen! God rest your soul, Donny!
