The List Guy is Dan Reed, Music Director for WXPN. Three times a week, Dan gives his spin on Top 10 musical moments in pop culture.
I’m talkin’ big – as in tall, wide, etc. Here’s 11 (the same size as a football team) of some of the biggest (literally) names in rock history. As a big dude myself, I’m pretty fond of this list. Am I leaving any “heavyweights” out?
1. Leslie West (Mountain) – 375 lbs.
2. Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) – 6’7”
3. Pat Dinizio (The Smithereens) – 300 lbs. plus
4. Michael Franti (Spearhead) – 6’6”
5. Clarence Clemons (Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band) – 6’5”
6. Solomon Burke – Between 350-400 lbs.
7. John Popper (Blues Traveler) – over 300 lbs. before he lost a ton of weight
8. Ric Ocasek (The Cars) – 6’5”
9. Buddy Miles (Band of Gypsies, others) – 350 lbs. plus
10. Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) – around 300 lbs. at his biggest
11. Shaquille O’Neal (yeah… he’s a ringer… but do you remember his Shaq Fu: The Return Rap Album?!?) – 7’1”
