in the early seventies when you went to a concert at the spectrum there were two opening acts for the headliner. i went to see the opening acts. only half the arena was used. i was not disapointed with TAJ MAHAL and BOZ SCAGGS but the BEACH BOYS were so good the cops were dancing in the concourse. i went to a lot of shows then and this was one of the best.

Memorable personal moment:
Lyle Lovett gave a free concert at the local Borders Book store years ago - an event I was determined not to miss. I got there early and found people already on top of tables, bookshelves, vying for a good view. Lyle looked amazed at all the people who turned out to see him. Afterwards, he signed CDs and posed for pictures for the entire line (a process that took hours). When I got to the table, I blurted out that the day's concert had been a real celebration for me, as it was my last day on the job with a "boss from hell" - as of that moment I was unemployed, but happy. He opened his big blue eyes wide, and looked surprised - and on my CD he wrote, "congratulations!"
