Those Crazy Mothers

It was 1969 or 1970, and I was at the Fillmore East watching the Mothers of Invention. Someone from the balcony called out “F*** you, Frank Zappa!” To a man, the band stopped playing and, in perfect unison, they all made identical obscene gestures with their left hands gripping the crack of their right elbows.
