Nixon Resignation

On August 8, 1974 I had the great fortune to be attending a concert at Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey CIty, NJ. The band was slated to start at around 7:00, there was a substantial delay. The crowd was getting restless. All of a sudden, David Crosby stepped on stage, “Ladies and Gentlemen” he began, “it is my great pleasure to announce that President Richard Milhouse Nixon has just resigned his Presidency of the United States of America.” With that, the rest of the CSNY band took the stage and broke into none other than “OHIO.” The entire stadium went crazy. I will never forget that moment for as long as I live.
