Bob Dylan Performs At The Woody Guthrie Memorial Concert

January 20, 1968 - Bob Dylan returns after 18 months of seclusion to perform at the Woody Guthrie Memorial Concert in Carnegie Hall. It was his first appearance since July of 1966 when he broke his neck in a motorcycle accident. Also performing at the concert were Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie, Odetta and others. Dylan was backed up by The Band and they performed an afternoon show and an evening performance. During the afternoon performance he performed four songs including: “I Ain’t Got No Home,” “Dear Mrs. Roosevelt,” “The Grand Coulee Dam” and “This Land Is Your Land.” For the evening performance, Dylan and The Band played the same first three songs and “This Train Is Bound For Glory” in place of “This Land Is Your Land.”
