Paul Simon was the host of the show that evening. Paul came out for his musical performance for the show that evening and sat down on a stool with his guitar. Without any introduction, and I believe as a complete unannounced surprise as he was not a scheduled guest, George Harrison came out and joined him. They played 4 songs to an audience expecting only a Paul Simon performance. They performed together, Paul Simon’s “Homeward Bound” and George Harrison’s “Here Comes The Sun.”  They also did one song each solo, with the other only playing a musical accompaniment. Those 2 songs, unfortunately I do not remember.

As part of the “around fifty” crowd, It was definitely a highlight of my life to see these two great singer/songwriters perform live on a very cutting-edge and funny TV show.
