With the recent death of Tom Snyder we couldn’t resist reflecting on some of the great musical moments from his show. He interviewed many of the greats – from The Clash, The Grateful Dead and U2 to Kiss, John Lennon and Elton John. Last year a terrific DVD was released called The Tomorrow Show - Punk & New Wave
that captured Tom on the set with some of the legends of that musical era.
From Elvis Costello, Iggy Pop, a surly Johnny Lydon, The Ramones, The Jam, Patti Smith, Joan Jett, The Plasmatics, the DVD is a great piece of music history for the performances and the incredible manner in which Snyder interviewed and shared his opinions with the guests. From his big laugh to seeing him smoking on the set, Snyder was a larger than life persona who wouldn’t think twice about pushing his guests around as much as they pushed him. RIP, Tom Snyder.
