WXPN Music Festival, Penns Landing, summer 1993
by Alicia Anderson, Newtown, PA
I have to say that one of my memorable music moments was my first exposure to WXPN! My high school boyfriend was a fan of John Wesley Harding, and when he found out that he was to perform at the WXPN (free back then!) music festival at Penns Landing, we scooted down in his 1982 TransAm. I remember being impressed by the camaraderie of those attending and thinking that. “…this station really seems to care about music!”. Much of what I’ve listened to since has been introduced via XPN. One of the reasons I tell people I love this area is because of your station — what a treasure we have here in the Delaware Valley. Thank you WXPN for cultivating past and future memorable music moments!
