Conversations from the World CafeListen to a Continuous Loop of this week's Conversations From The World Cafe
Enjoy engaging discussions with some of today's most important artists as World Cafe host David Dye presents Conversations From the World Cafe.

ARCHIVES: July 15, 2008
This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, Steve Winwood joins host David Dye in the studio. Winwood got his start in the Spencer Davis Group when he was only fifteen. When he wanted more of a challenge - to stretch out instrumentally and explore jazz - he left that band to form Traffic in 1967. In 1969, Winwood teamed up with Eric Clapton to create the supergroup Blind Faith. While Blind Faith did not continue after their one hit album, Winwood’s skills as a solo act and as a member of Traffic continued to evolve. Steve Winwood talks with us about it all, and about his new album, "Nine Lives." Plus, David Ford - his latest record is called "Songs For the Road." The pianist explains why he thinks its so difficult being a musician in his homeland, Britain, and why he think Americans have it easier.
